Marathon Man – Rob Young

Of all the social benefits attributed to running, the enormous amount of money raised by people taking part for various charities is one of the most significant.

Whether it’s a five kilometre fun run, a marathon or even an ultra, every penny raised for good causes makes an enormous difference to charities globally. And of all those people receiving sponsorship there are some that do extraordinary things. One such man is Rob Young, AKA Marathon Man.

Rob’s aim is to run over 367 marathons in a year, while raising funds for his chosen charities. So far he’s ran in 280, covering over 75,000 miles and dealing with a number of hurdles along the way. His journey has most recently seen him travel to America to gain support.

His goal is to raise £200,000 for NSPCC, Dreams Come True and Great Ormond Street Hospital, three charities helping disadvantaged children and issues closely linked with his own personal story.

To find out more about Rob and why he’s taken on such an enormous and important challenge click on his website here. We’ve met him, he’s a remarkably nice man and deserves your support.
