After 13 years, the sight of men wearing various attempts at moustaches for a whole month has become a normal part of the calendar. An amazing achievement for a charity foundation that’s brought male health to the forefront of modern culture. Covering some of the biggest health issues faced by men today, like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention, the Movember foundation aims, by 2030, to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

To support the cause – and you really should – you don’t just have to grow a moustache. In fact there are loads of things you can do help raise both money and awareness, whether it be a wine tasting event, playing a team sport or setting yourself a health and fitness challenge.

The guys over at MoRunning have made it even easier for us fitness people to get involved, by setting up a series of races across the UK in support of the campaign. And get this, Mr Motivator is the ambassador for the series. That’s right. Mr Motivator. A man whose fame is due as much for his moustache as it is for his workouts and inappropriate gym wear.

All you need to do is find a location, wear a moustache (real or fake, doesn’t matter) and raise some money. It’s that simple. You even get a cool medal at the end in the shape of a moustache. You can’t lose.

Head on over to the website here to find an event close to you. We’ll be taking part in the Battersea Park event. We’re undecided on the type of moustache yet though.
