Video Review: The Brooks Hyperion Elite Carbon Plate Shoe

2020 is set to be a big year for fast race shoes, especially where carbon plates are concerned, and over the next few months we can expect to see a number of brands looking to take on the dominance of the Nike Vaporfly.

One of the first brands to release a carbon plate racer is Brooks, with its Hyperion Elite shoe. I haven’t tested it yet but Nick from The Run Testers has been putting it through its paces.

The shoe is aimed at PRs on race day and combines a new light DNA Zero midsole cushioning with the Carbon Fiber Propulsion Plate. The idea is that the carbon plate helps to save energy whilst allowing the runner to keep a natural motion path even when fatigued.

Can it take on Nike’s Vaporfly? Here’s Nick to give the lowdown:

The Hyperion Elite will be available from 1 March 2020 priced at £210.
